About Alaph Chapter
A Foundation for the
Brotherhood
Alpha Chapter was founded at the University of Oklahoma on October 22, 2004, by the Eight Founders of Iota Gamma. The chapter was created to provide Native men with a stronger network of academic support, cultural connection, accountability, and Brotherhood while pursuing higher education. As the birthplace of Iota Gamma, Alpha Chapter established the foundation for the fraternity’s Four Pillars and its commitment to helping Indigenous men complete their degrees, grow as leaders, and use their education to strengthen their communities.
